Sample endorsements 29 April 2008 Peter and Maureen, ... We wanted to write and thank you for a perfect weekend painting. The information you passed onto us Peter was fantastic, you made it all seem so easy and certainly helped with the confidence... I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed my time with the brush… Maureen, lunch on both days was fantastic, thank you so much for all your hard work... Kindest Regards Sue and Peter
22nd April 2008 Dear Maureen and Peter Thank you both so much for such a worthwhile weekend – I now understand why I was so confused about watercolour! I can now see that too much unnecessary information in the past (and some of it apparently wrong!!) was the main problem – and I am so grateful to Peter for really ‘demystifying’ watercolour for me and I now feel that I have the right basic knowledge to continue practising with a clear understanding of what to do (and importantly what not to do!)... Thank you Maureen for looking after us so well at lunchtimes – lovely... Jill 17th April 2008 Dear Peter and Maureen Thank you for the excellent course on oils for beginners. It, happily, makes my past efforts obsolete (apart from some practice on form and perspective). Thank you also, Maureen, for a couple of wonderful lunches – the star being the Thai Curry. I’ve finished the painting and am pleased that it is so much better than anything else I have done...James 5th December 2007 Dear Peter and Maureen I would like to thank you again for an extremely happy and memorable two days. Your idea is beautifully executed; Peters tuition is totally absorbing; I learned a lot and am greatly encouraged to practise. I hope to return someday to this relaxed atmosphere – and of course would enjoy more of Maureen’s superb cuisine! ... Yvonne 2.11.07 Dear Peter I so enjoyed the two day watercolour class Anthea and I attended last week. It covered so many techniques and was very constructive. I feel I can progress further and am already looking at everything around me in a new light. Thank you once again and Maureen for the wonderful home cooked food... Anne H August 2007

Dear Maureen and Peter Thank you both so much for an interesting and enjoyable two days...
With Regards Noel Barclays Premier Twenty20 Magazine November 2004 WATERCOLOUR PAINTING JEANETTE KING, 54 GENEALOGIST Down a quiet lane just outside Hungerford is the thatched home of Peter and Maureen Turner. The purpose-built wooden studio in their back garden provides a perfect setting for Peter’s art courses, It was here that I arrived one stormy morning to take the ‘Watercolour Challenge’. My limited experience of painting — years ago in an Oxfordshire grammar school, where the weekly period of double art was, for most of us, an opportunity to skive off— did not exactly bode well. On Day One, Peter, who has run painting courses for over 40 years, began with the skills required to paint in watercolour, the materials used and how to care for them. I realised I had better concentrate or I would be left behind! We then did an exercise using the seven basic colours in the palette — invaluable practice for creating secondary colours, blending and shading. At 1 230pm we adjourned to the conservatory for a delightful lunch lovingly prepared by Maureen. After lunch, we were asked to draw and paint one flower from a stem. Later, we had a tuition session in washes, and a stoneware jug with an apple and pear in the foreground was placed in front of us to paint. So, by the end of the day, to my surprise and delight, I had completed two watercolour paintings! Day Two dawned and Peter started with a session on techniques for painting skies, clouds, trees and so on. He then asked us to choose a seascape and a landscape from a wide selection of photographs to paint. That I, nicknamed Brian after the lovable Magic Roundabout snail, managed to finish one painting in the time available was an achievement in itself. I had a great time during two very busy days. With Peter’s encouragement, nothing seems impossible. Jeanette took the two-day ‘Watercolour Challenge’ at Marsh Studio in Hungerford, Berkshire. Peter Turner also offers courses in oil painting and photo editing. For more in formation, visit www.peterturner.org or call 01488 681366.

Dear Peter
Just to say a BIG thank you for the inspiration you have given me following the course last weekend. Your approach and quiet enthusiasm suited me well and I really have learnt so much.
I come home each night from work and settle straight down to practising colour washes and colour mixing. I plan to persevere with this for two weeks before I launch into some serious landscape work.
Brilliant couple of days - shame it was not longer. Please convey my thanks to your wife for those lovely lunches - excellent.
. . . . . .
With all best wishes

Dear Peter and Maureen
A quick note to say how much I, and my niece Kim enjoyed our week-end ‘painting’. We learned a great deal and hopefully our future work will now be that much improved.
Kim and I are hoping to come along to another course – perhaps in June or September and will call nearer that time.
Regards

Dear Peter and Maureen
I just wanted to drop you a note to say a huge 'thank you' for the Go for Oil course last week. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned a huge amount.
Whilst I have no illusions that the paintings I produced were 'good' in the sense of a master painter, they were many orders of magnitude better than I would have dreamed it possible for me to paint. When I showed my husband, he was speechless. He didn't believe I could ever produce something that didn't need a label, either!
Your tuition and kind words have prompted me to do a little more experimentation in this area - I'm now booked on a drawing course and plan to keep the painting going.
Many, many thanks.

Dear Peter and Maureen,
Thank you so much for two most enjoyable days. It was wonderful to become submerged in ‘another world’ – inspirational & uplifting – from the artistic to the culinary!
I feel much more confident about where I’m going with my painting now. Peter’s precise & encouraging teaching has carved a clear path through the confusion I felt previously, and I’m just itching to get on with it! Thank you for such a valuable experience, delightful company, and mouth watering meals. I’d like to come again when I have had a good spell of practise . . . .
Yours sincerely,

Hi Peter,
I just wanted to say Thank You again from both James and I. We both thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and felt we got a lot out of it, more than I think we anticipated. I'm pleased to report that the paintings made it home safely, and so did we. Now that we have the photos (thanks), in our mitts, we are heading off this weekend to get ourselves kitted out and aim to finish the masterpieces on Sunday! Then, who knows!
Please pass on our thanks too to Maureen - her hospitality really made us feel welcomed into your home, and very well fed and watered! You are a great double act. We look forward to sampling your cooking when she runs her pottery courses!!!
We will come and see you again when we are next in the area if we haven't come to polish up our skills before that.
Take care both and good luck for this year with your various projects.
Regards Tina and James
